Abstract:
The Lister Hill National Center for Biomedical Communications is a research and development division of the United States National Library of Medicine (NLM). The Center conducts and supports research, develops research tools and systems, and provides training opportunities to individuals at various stages of their careers. The Center has been in existence since 1968, when it was established by a joint resolution of the United States Congress, with the mandate to conduct research supporting the mission of the NLM. The Center's research programs are reviewed biannually by a Board of Scientific Counselors, an external advisory group of researchers from the informatics community.
