Biography:
Deborah Bennett joined the Lister Hill National Center for Biomedical
Communications (LHNCBC) staff in 1981 and has worked for the Computer Science
Branch (CSB) since its infancy. She was hired to provide programming and operational
support for some of CSB's early computer systems. As a Computer Specialist, Ms. Bennett
provides computer systems and administrative support to CSB, LHNCBC. She has an interest
in human-computer interaction and user interface design. She is currently working on a
project to improve the usability of the NLM Gateway Web site. Ms. Bennett is also pursuing
a degree in Information Systems Management at the University of Maryland University College
in College Park, MD.
Prior to working for the National Library of Medicine, Ms. Bennett worked for NIH's
Center for Information Technology (formerly DCRT), the National Commission on Digestive
Diseases, and for the National Eye Institute. She attended Towson University and is a
graduate of Montgomery College.
