Program Description
The U.S. National Library of Medicine Rotation for Medical Informatics Trainees provides students enrolled in NLM funded Medical Informatics Training Programs an opportunity to learn about NLM programs and about Lister Hill Center research. The rotation includes a series of lectures and provides an opportunity for students to work closely with established scientists involved in Center research. The program gives participants the opportunity to meet fellows from other NLM funded programs and may lead to future collaboration with Center research staff as well as with researchers from other NLM Training Grant Programs.
Students will be paid a stipend equivalent to their regular monthly stipend, receive reimbursement for travel to and from the NLM, and a housing allowance of $700 per month for the 2 month NLM fellowship. The duration of students fellowships can be extended 2 months at their home institutions to accommodate for the time spent attending the NLM rotation.
