Search by Term/EUI

This is the most common search option used (default) in LexAccess. User may go to this option by clicking on the "Search By Term/EUI" from the top menu. Basically, users may search by an inflected term or an EUI. All users need to do is type in the term or EUI and then click on "Search" button. The "Clear" button will clean up the input text field and result. These two basic searches are described as follows.

• By EUI:
  Users may input any legal EUI to find a record from the SPECIALIST LEXICON. A legal EUI starts with letter "E" follows by 7 numerical numbers. The result should only include one lexical record since EUI is unique. If the input EUI is incorrect, the LexAccess will treat the EUI as a term and try to retrieve records from the SPECIALIST LEXICON. If no record can be found, a blank page will shown on the result section. Users may also select "no record found" message to display in such cases.

  Below shows an example of searching a record with EUI is E0033269.

  

• By term:
  Users may also input any term to find records from the SPECIALIST LEXICON. In this search, LexAccess ignore case and try to find all records with same inflected form as the input. For example, if the input term is "resume", LexAccess fond two lexical records as shown below.
