Using Social Networking Resources to Search MEDLINE/PubMed, a Practice Guidelines Database and Journal Club.
We utilized Twitter and Facebook to develop new tools to search and retrieve MEDLINE/PubMed abstracts and Practice Guidelines for mobile devices users. Twitter’s messaging feature was utilized to emulate a text2MEDLINE search without using SMS. Facebook was used to develop an online Journal Club prototype. Using mobile devices enables healthcare providers to access knowledge sources and share them with the healthcare community worldwide.
