Expertise and Research Interests:
Dr. Grigorescu is joining LHNCBC/ACIB from the Office of the Assistant Secretary for Planning and Evaluation (ASPE), where she served as senior health scientist in the Health Policy Office, Division of Healthcare Quality and Outcomes that manages the Office of the Secretary Patient Centered Outcomes Research Trust Fund (OS-PCORTF).
Prior to joining the ASPE, Dr. Grigorescu worked for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) where she held branch chief positions in the Division of Reproductive Health, National Center for Chronic Disease Prevention and Control, and subsequently, in the Division of Health Informatics and Surveillance, Center for Epidemiology, Surveillance, and Laboratory Services. In both positions, she oversaw cross-cutting national programs and surveillance systems, and advanced initiatives such as Data Hub, an agency-wide enterprise that under her leadership expanded the data portfolio to include electronic medical records and facilitated adoption of technology tools for complex study designs and analysis to inform health care, programs, and policy.
Dr. Grigorescu has many years of expertise as a scientist and leader. She also brings a rich clinical background based on many years of clinical practice in different European health care systems, including government-subsidized hospitals and private clinics. She is an obstetrician/gynecologist by background, with specialization in reproductive endocrinology and infertility.
Professional Activities:
Dr. Grigorescu earned her Master of Science in Public Health from the University of Kentucky and her MD from the University of Medicine and Pharmacy in Romania.
